ABOUT US

"Connecting ideas, building the future"

Mission.
To promote the dissemination of the Mexican culture in UCL and to improve the possibilities of working market integration for alumni back to their return to Mexico.

Vision.
To consolidate us as the most influential Society of Mexican students in the UK.

Goals.
• To maintain bonds with other Societies of Mexican students from all over the world.
• To promote the dissemination of Mexican culture by socio-academic events.
• To help other Mexican students about to begin their studies at UCL.

History.
The UCL Mexican Society was founded by Gabriela González, Tonatiuh Anzures and Victor Acuña in 2011. Nowadays we are more than 400 members and ex-members, comprised of high quality students, researchers and professionals in different fields around the world.

Omar Regalado F.

Vice-President
Omar trained as a Biologist in UNAM, where he specialised in Palaeobiology of Invertebrates. He pursues now a PhD in Earth Sciences since 2015, studying the evolution of quadrupedality in sauropodomorph dinosaurs. Omar is passionate about science outreach, he currently writes some blogs and contributes in Revista Mito. Amongst his interest are Biology in general, and the history of science.
Secretary Officer

Marco A. Ortíz

Treasurer
Marco trained as a Genomic scientist at UNAM, where he specialised in stem cell and cell differentiation using germline cells of C. elegans. He pursues a PhD in stem cells and development since 2015, studying the generation of new neurons from neural stem cells in adult mice, with implications in humans. Amongst his interests are the improvement of science in Mexico and science.
